Chairman of football Peter Ridsdale has confirmed the Club have made a bid for a new striker.
The cash bid was made for the forward on Monday and at this stage has been turned down.
Ridsdale said: “We have identified the need for a striker and we have had our targets all summer. We have made a bid for our number one target, which has been turned down.
“We will not over pay for players and must work within our budget, but we have money available for the right player, at the right price and we will continue to try and strengthen the squad in the areas we need to.”
The Club has already recruited 13 new player this summer and all the signings were announced first on the Club’s official SMS service. To sign up to receive the news ‘first and fast’ just text the words CLUB PNE ON to 88442.
