See Mawene At Morecambe

20 July 2012

North End fans will be able see former favourite Youl Mawene in action if they go to Morecambe on Saturday.

The French defender is currently on trial with the Shrimps and is set to get a run out against his former employers.

Signed, after his contract ended at Derby, by Craig Brown in 2004, the Caen-born centre back went on to make nearly 200 apearances for the Lilywhites, scoring eight goals along the way.

He moved on in 2010 and had a year in Greece, before returning to the British Isles for a season north of the border, back with Craig Brown, at Aberdeen in the SPL, playing 22 games.

However, now 33, he has retained a home in Lancashire and has been brought in to trial with Jim Bentley at the Globe Arena, where he will undoubtedly get a fantastic reception from the North End faithful on Saturday.

Remember, you can listen to full match commentary of the game on PNE Player, on air from 2.45pm. But if you can get to the game you can pay cash on the turnstiles for the standing areas and buy a ticket at the ticket office for the seating areas.
