Sodje Stays At Deepdale

15 November 2012

Akpo Sodje has extended his stay at Deepdale through into December, signing a new contract with the Club.

The North End No.12 is the current second top goalscorer with the Lilywhites, with seven goals in 14 appearances and will be looking to further add to that with a big run of games coming up.

His current deal expired after the weekend’s victory over Stevenage, but has signed on the dotted line once again in time to be available for the weekend visit of Brentford to Deepdale.

The Greenwich-born 32-year-old signed for the Lilywhites after a successful pre-season trial spell and has since played his part in the team’s positive start to the season.

He will be part of the hot competition for striking berths along with new loan signing Anthony Elding and the returning Lee Trundle, who re-joined training this week after his pre-season knee injury and subsequent spell on the sidelines, giving manager Graham Westly plenty of options coming into the packed spell of pre-Christmas and holiday fixtures.
