“Our record home and away is similar and we know it won’t be an easy place to go but we go there off the back of four unbeaten and we will go to Stevenage on Saturday looking to post three points.”

Looking ahead of the game Westley said: “After Tuesday night’s game it becomes even more important for us to win on Saturday.

Since their last journey on the road, PNE have played a double header at Deepdale. They started out by beating Yeovil Town 3-0 to progress into the second round of the FA Cup, and followed that on with a controversial 1-1 draw against Carlisle United.

Just over a week ago North End were only five minutes away from claiming maximum points at early pace setters Tranmere Rovers, and dominated play at Prenton Park.

Boss Graham Westley and four members of the North End squad will be returning to their former employers as the Lilywhites look to make it three games unbeaten on the road.
