North End’s U18s have been drawn to face Gateshead in the first round of the FA Youth Cup, after the Conference side overcame Wrexham in the final qualifying round on Wednesday night.
Graham Alexander’s young Lilywhites will travel to the International Stadium on Wednesday 31st October, with a 7pm kick-off in a competition where the youth team have reached the fifth round for the past few seasons.
Entrance at the Tynesiders stadium will be £3 for adults and £1 for concessions and PNE.Com will be having full coverage, including commentary on PNE Player, full match report and highlights the following day.
Gateshead’s first team is managed by former North End favourite Ian Bogie and their U18s overcame the Welsh side 3-1 on Wednesday evening to set up the tie, with the winners then drawn to face either Doncaster or Morecambe in round two.
Meanwhile, the U18s also face Morecambe at home in the quarter-finals of the Lancashire Youth Cup, date to be confirmed.
The next league action for the table-toppers in the North West Youth Alliance is a derby this Saturday, a 10.30am kick-off at Springfields as they take on rivals Burnley, rearranged after the postponement earlier this season.
