Boss Graham Westley was in fighting mood as he spoke to PNE.Com on Sunday morning.
Speaking to the Club's official website the manager said: "I am embarrassed by the team's display on Saturday, like I was embarrassed by the display at Walsall.
"In neither situation were we caught out by things we hadn't considered. We just didn't execute our game plan and we fell physically short in both games.
"I have always been able to depend on defenders to defend and on the team to outwork oppositions, but we have been cut open with too much ease on both occasions.
"We have left the basics behind and there is no excuse for that. The fans deserve better; yet again they travelled in fantastic numbers and we let them down.
"This group is better than those two performances suggest. But we have to stop talking about it and prove it consistently."
