Beavon ‘Buzzing’ At Move

1 September 2012

New signing Stuart Beavon told the website that Preston was the only place he wanted to move after the manager made it clear how much he wanted him at Deepdale.

Speaking to PNE Player after completing the formalities on one of the longest running transfer deals of the summer, he said that once he had spoken to Graham Westley about a potential move to North End, his mind was made up.

“The manager made it clear he wanted to sign me and when I knew the interest was this significant I only wanted to come here and it has worked out well,” said the new No.29.

“I’m buzzing [it’s been completed]! It’s been going on quite a while and I’m delighted it has been completed. I didn’t think it would be this tight, but I was told it could go to the wire and it did.

“I played against Preston twice last year and there are now hardly any players, if any, still there from then. But I know Jack King and John Mousinho from down south and that was a big factor for me as well.”

The North End faithful have been talking about a move for the man who scored 25 goals for Wycombe in League One last season and he admitted being excited at the fans excitement!

“It is nice to know that the fans have been talking about me,” he continued. “I scored a few goals last year and I hope to score a few goals here and get us up the table.

“I am a hard working player with a never say die attitude and with the service I hope to score a few goals. The gaffer has told me how they train and I believe that can benefit me. I can’t wait to pull on that shirt now.”
