PNE pair Scott Laird and Stuart Beavon both make the League One Team of the Week
Preston North End pair Scott Laird and Stuart Beavon both made the npower League One Team of the Week for their impressive performance against Swindon Town.
The Lilywhites brushed aside last season’s League Two champions Swindon Town last weekend 4-1, playing an attractive brand of football.
Beavon, who made his North End bow against the Robins, played a key part in the opening two goals, and scored the third, his first for the Club as PNE led 3-0 at half-time.
The 28-year-old, a deadline day capture from Wycombe, has quickly settled into his new surroundings and will be looking to match his 25 goals scored last term.
Team mate Laird, has been one of the shining lights so far this season for North End, showing his credentials at left back and on the left hand side of midfield.
Delivering the cross for North End’s second, Laird scored nine goals last season from defence, and his powerful run have already concerned opposition teams in League One.
