In a repeat of the 2011/12 season North End will travel to the Globe Arena in the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
The Lilywhites face Jim Bentley's Morecambe after defeating Carlisle United away in the first round on Tuesday night; their fourth tie in a row that has ended in penalties.The draw was made live on Sky Sports' Soccer AM on Saturday morning and saw the two Lancashire teams drawn together once again.
The tie is likely to be played on Tuesday 9th October, however, this is to be confirmed once the TV ties have been decided.
In October 2011, North End went through on penalties after the game finished 2-2 at the Shrimps, but North End will be looking for revenge for their pre-season defeat at the same venue.
