“We use tactics to win the game, we are an easy target and every team is going to come here with some sort of moan and groan and dislike what we do. That is part and parcel of the game and they need to worry about themselves.”
“We always want to keep the tempo of the game, everyone is going to pick at the big boys and we are one of the favourites and we are a big Club.
“It allowed them to get settled a bit more, these factors come in, I made a mistake for their second goal and they creep in. We want to put them right now.
“We are started the game correctly and a lot of factors came into the game such as the referee stopped us from playing our game because he kept stopping and it changed the momentum.
“We are not worrying, obviously we didn’t want it to happen but sometimes it just doesn’t happen for you.
“A few of us have been texting each other adding different things we could have changed and we have talked about it again today.
“All we can do is learn from Saturday and make the next game better and we had a good long talk after the game and we all had a long hard think over the weekend.
“Hartlepool will have to come to Deepdale and work hard and we are going to be angry and frustrated from Saturday so we are going to go out there full throttle and put it right.
“There is no easy game whoever we come up against whether they are top or bottom of the league, it is down to whoever turns up on the night and plays the right game,” believes the former Leeds man.
Preparation for Tuesday night began as soon as the final whistle blew against Crawley at the weekend, with Cansdell-Sherriff revealing a number of players were in contact with one another on Sunday sharing their ideas on how they could improve.
“That also means preparing for games right because they come so quick your body can be tired so you need to prepare right which we have done today and yesterday. Tuesday night presents a chance to put things right.”
“We have got a lot of games coming thick and fast so we have to quickly move on and we have to stay in the right frame of mind all the time.
“However the game dragged on and we couldn’t seem to get into our rhythm without playing their game too much and in the end they broke us down and they scored two goals.
“We prepared the right way and we started the match bright and lively and if we had scored early on it would have been a completely different game.
The game at the weekend didn’t go to plan and we didn’t go forward how we wanted to.
