24 April 2013

Want to do something memorable this summer? Then why not express your interest in the Preston North End National Citizen Service?

The Preston North End National Citizen Service is a volunteer social action project that will be delivered over six weeks in the summer holidays. The project will look to commence July 2013, with recruitment underway now!

It is available to current Year 11 students, i.e. 2013 school leavers, and Year 12 sixth form college students (16 and 17) in the Preston, South Ribble and Chorley schools and colleges.

The initiative comprises of two, one week residentials, were young people will be taking part in various fun outdoor based activities in the countryside along with completing qualifications such as First Aid.

The aim of the qualifications and the program is to develop and improve skills, and raise awareness of local opportunities for pupils who are leaving school. There is also a social action week and 30 hours of community volunteering built into the program.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any school leaver. The Sir Tom Finney Foundation is looking for young adults to enrol on the 2012/13 course. There are only 30 places available for the entire population of Preston, South Ribble and Chorley's Year 11 and sixth form students!

Express your interest in the hottest and best project PNE will be running this year.
