Preston North End central defender Paul Huntington has been nominated for the npower League One Player Of The Month Award for March.
The Lilywhites No.4 has been in stellar form since the arrival of new manager Simon Grayson and he has been rewarded for his impressive performances with this nomination.
North End have become a formidable force for opponents to break down of late, conceding just three goals in six matches over the course of March with Hunts; a former Newcastle United player, being a main reason for the change in ways with the help of his defensive colleagues and Declan Rudd between the sticks.
Huntington has been a revelation of late with some commanding and impressive displays as his confidence soars game by game and this would be a well-deserved accolade for the former Yeovil Town captain.
Paul faces some stiff competition to be crowned League One’s Player Of The Month as he is up against Bournemouth striker Brett Pitman who scored five goals in March and a man known to all at Deepdale, Jamie Proctor who left the Lilywhites in August 2012.
The winner will be selected by the judging panel of npower Partnerships and Sponsorships Manager Katy Thomas, Wolves legend Don Goodman, BBC Sport’s Mark Clemmit and The Football League’s Head of Communications, John Nagle, with the winner being announced on Friday 12th April.
Everyone at Preston North End would like to wish Paul good luck on Friday and a huge congratulations on being nominated.
