You may have seen some of the players talking about it on Twitter and now we can reveal why quizzes have been the topic of the week!
As part of our video output for the Player of the Year Awards, we spent much of Tuesday recording a very special episode of the BBC quiz Mastermind with the whole of the first team squad.
Split into six teams of four, they all took part in a general knowledge round, with six team captains all also having to go it alone in a ‘specialist subject’ round.
All presented by Sky Sports’ Peter Stevenson, it should make a fantastic interlude at this year’s awards… and you can be there to witness the premiering of the video and to find out who is Deepdale Mastermind Champion 2013!
Of course, voting closed at the weekend for the awards, taking place in the Invincibles Lounge on Sunday 28th April, with a 6.45pm start time and we are now collating the results ahead of the big announcement on the night.

We can also announce that the evening’s proceedings will be sponsored by Dewhurst Homes. The local property company and estate agency, who already sponsor the stadium’s Bill Shankly Kop, will sponsor the entire evening and we will be joined on the night be a number of senior figures from the company to present the top awards.
