Burnley Betting Preview

26 August 2013

PNE face Lancashire rivals Burnley on Tuesday evening in the Capital One Cup and, once again, Sky Bet have all the best odds ahead of the match.

The Football League’s official sponsors have North End at 7/2 underdogs to repeat their heroics from the first round against Blackpool and beat the Clarets.

Meanwhile, Sean Dyche’s side are 8/11 on to win the match, thanks to their Championship status.

A draw is 11/4 with Sky Bet, and perhaps not an unlikely result as four of PNE’s five opening games to the season have ended in stalemates.

The last time these two sides met at Turf Moor, Burnley won an incredible match 4-3, thanks to a last gasp Jay Rodriguez goal, and Sky Bet have odds of 9/2 for there to be four or more goals on Tuesday evening.

As founding members of the Football League, Burnley and Preston met for the very first time in September 1888 at Deepdale.

That day, PNE won 5-2 and Sky Bet have tasty odds of 250/1 for the Lilywhites to repeat that scoreline at Turf Moor.

So, if you fancy a bet on North End on Tuesday night, go to and place your wager now!
