FLE: Jack King

25 December 2013

In our first edition of this new feature, we found out that our German stopper Thorsten Stuckmann has seen Robbie Williams and Lionel Ritchie in concert.

Let’s see what we find out about today’s member of the squad, Jack King, in ‘My First, My Last, My Everything’.

The first match you attended live was…

“I think it was at the Dell, Southampton versus Manchester United. I can’t remember how old I was, I must have been around eight or nine I should think and I can’t even remember the result.”

The last match you attended live was…

“I went to watch my old Club, Farnborough, against Havant & Waterlooville. That was towards the end of last season, around February time.”

What was the first professional match you played in?

“Against Huddersfield last year, at the start of last season, that was my pro debut.”

When was the first professional goal you scored?

“Same game, Huddersfield. I scored in the first half after about 20-odd minutes I think. It was a dream come true, especially as I was playing up front as well so yeah it was ideal.”

Which player’s name did you first get printed on the back of a shirt?

“It was probably on the back of a Manchester United shirt and I think it was Ryan Giggs.”

What was the first film you watched at the cinema?

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I think. I took my auntie to go and see that.”

What was the first DVD you ever bought?

“I’m going to say the Friends DVDs – I’m not sure which one that’d be.”

What was the first concert you ever went to?

“That would have been Rihanna, probably getting on for about seven or eight years ago now.”

Where was the first place you were recognised?

“In Swansea actually. I was only in the youth team, but I got recognised in the town centre.”

What was the first injury you ever had?

“At Swansea I had a knee cartilage operation. I would have been 17 at the time.”

What was the first pet you ever had?

“I had a dog called ‘Shepp’, a border collie. He was nuts!”

What’s the most recent pet you’ve had?

“The most recent was a dog when my mum and dad went on holiday, and I just left it there for when they got back, a Labrador called Duke.”

Who was your first best friend?

“I’m going to say a girl I went to nursery with, a girl called Louise. To be fair we’re still friends now so we’ve been friends about 24 years, something like that.”

Who is your current best friend?

“Probably Bailey Wright, I live with him as well.”
