Another Award, Another Reason To Buy

24 January 2013

The One And Only has won its second programme of the season award – so don’t miss out on your copy for this Saturday’s clash with Coventry City.

Hot on the heels of the recent announcement that the matchday programme had been announced as the Programme Monthly programme of the year for 2012/13, we were contacted to say we had won another top prize for the official matchday publication!

The Northern Programme Club Independent Review Magazine has selected the Preston North End matchday programme as the League One programme of the year.

Writing to the Club, the Northern Programme Club president Jack Mitton said: “It's that time of year again when all your hard work is rewarded and appreciated by our members and readers.

“This year the standard of football programmes has again been extremely high - well done to you all for providing us with such excellent publications.

“A record number of entries were received meaning that we will have a large pot from which we can make our annual donation to our chosen charity. Enough of my ramblings... here are the results of our sixth Annual Programme Competition (The David Stacey Trophy).”

And those results saw PNE come out on top ahead of Scunthorpe United and Yeovil Town. We also picked up best feature for the division, best design and best content, whilst editor Ben Rhodes won the special Editor’s Award for the whole of English football.

Speaking about the latest honour for the matchday programme, Rhodes said: “We are very humbled to learn of yet another award for The One And Only. This year we have worked very hard to produce a product of real quality to reward our supporters with something to read and enjoy on matchday and beyond and we are very grateful to Independent View for recognising the hard work that has gone into putting together this season’s editions.”

In this Saturday’s edition of The One And Only we have interviews with Paul Connolly, Joe Garner, Youl Mawene, Chris Bearsley, Will Hayhurst, Julian Darby, Stephen Elliott, Lee Holmes and Keith Keane.

We also have Graham Cummins answering your social networking questions and Thorsten Stuckmann facing fans and mascots in our brain teaser quiz. Manager Graham Westley and skipper John Mousinho write their latest columns, whilst we also have all the regular features and article have made the matchday programme a success this season.

All this and much, much more in 84 pages of perfect bound content is available for just £3 from the Club shop from Friday afternoon, online at and in person from the sellers around and inside the ground on Saturday afternoon.
