Gaffer: Right Game At The Right Time

17 January 2013

Graham Westley believes Yeovil Town will provide a similar test to the one his side faced at Victoria Park on New Years Day.

The Lilywhites will be looking for their second away win on the bounce in League One in 2013 and claim victory over Gary Johnson’s Glovers for the third time this season.
However, Yeovil will be a different proposition from the last time PNE faced them, with the Somerset outfit winning four of their last six League One games including an impressive 2-0 win at Sheffield United.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, the North End boss said: “It is similar test to Hartlepool when they come off the back of beating Sheffield United and it was a big warning shot for us.

“Yeovil Town’s win at Sheffield United last weekend was a big warning shot for us and we know they are on a decent run.

“They have won a lot of games this season; they are up there with the top teams with the games they have won. They have also lost a lot of games and haven’t drawn that many and that is where their league position comes from.

“Gary Johnson is an experienced manager, he knows his way around League One and his team will always play with a footballing mentality and a positive energy.

“There is a lot of youth in their side and brightness and they will be a tough test. We know once we get ourselves going we won’t be looking towards any team being able to deal with what we can offer.

“This week the lads have seemed to work with a little more determination and self-confidence.  They are fed up with under achieving and we know it is time to get ourselves together and kick along.

“We are looking forward to the game, it is the right game at the right time and we are looking to the game.”
