North End’s trip to Huish Park has been called off on safety grounds after heavy snowfall in Yeovil overnight on Thursday/Friday.
The wintery conditions in Somerset had left the pitch under four inches of snow, and whilst this was playable is the snow was removed, the surrounding areas, including the terraces at the stadium, were not considered safe and the decision has been taken to postpone the game.
PNE’s team had waited at Deepdale before departing after Yeovil had given the Club an indication that a safety inspection would take place and the call came at 2pm to postpone the fixture.
No new date has yet been agreed for the fixture, which will be announced on PNE.Com as soon as it is agreed between the clubs and the Football League – but any tickets bought for the original fixture will be valid for the game when it is rearranged.
