Preston North End defender Ben Davies has agreed to join York City on a short term loan deal.
The 17-year-old will begin an initial 28 day loan spell with the League Two side from Saturday and will be available to play in their remaining pre-season fixtures and subsequent league matches only.
Davies, made his first team debut for the Lilywhites last season and featured in three games.
Speaking about the move, manager Simon Grayson said: “Ben will gain valuable experience joining York City on a short term loan and the Club will undoubtedly reap the benefits of such a move for years to come.
"He has all the attributes required to become a good player for Preston North End and this first team experience will help his development no end.
“He has had a positive pre-season to date and this is the next step in him becoming an important part of our future plans.”
