PNE South Ribble Supporters Group, in association with Vintage Clarets, are excited to announce a special match to celebrate 125 years of the Football League.
On 28th July, 3pm, at Bamber Bridge Football Club, a Preston North End Legends team will do battle against the Vintage Clarets, a Burnley Legends team.
In 1888 the first round of the newly formed Football League saw Preston North End take on Burnley. Both clubs have since gone on to form an integral part of the history of the Football League, providing great players and fantastic moments.
Both sides have set enviable records and this match is another opportunity for bragging rights among local supporters, as well as raising much needed funds for local charities.
Famous players from the last twenty years will be gracing the Help for Heroes Stadium to raise funds for charities including the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, the Gary Parkinson Foundation, the Burnley Former Players Association and other charities.
Although this is a charity match our event last year showed how seriously the players will be taking this and we expect the fan turnout to be high.
Tickets are £5 for adults, £3 for five to 16-year-olds and over 65’s, and free for under 5’s. There will be a licenced bar and snack food available.
For the true fans amongst you there will be a fans’ forum after the match in the bar where you can put your questions to some of the players,
There are hospitality packages available and there will be a raffle at the game to give you the chance to win signed PNE and Burnley current squad shirts and balls, and signed PNE and Burnley Legend shirts and balls.
