A huge local derby will mark the first round of the Capital One Cup at Deepdale with Paul Ince and Blackpool the visitors.
The game will be 94th competitive clash between the teams and the fifth time they have faced each other in the League Cup.
The last Cup tie of any kind between the sides was in front of the Sky cameras in 1994, when Mike Conroy’s header gave the Lilywhites a 1-0 win; North End winning the last League Cup tie in September 1986 2-1 over two legs.
The tie will be played week commencing Monday 5th August with the confirmed date and ticket pricing to be confirmed over the next few days.
