Fans’ All-time XI – Radio Lancs Debate

4 June 2013

BBC Radio Lancashire will run a show on Thursday 6th June, 6pm-7pm, debating who should grace PNE's 'Fans' All-time XI'.

Andy Bayes will present the programme along with guests Dave Seddon - North End reporter for the Lancashire Evening Post - Martin Atherton - Club statistician - and one lucky Lilywhites fan, as they give their view on who should win the voting process.

It will be a tricky argument for the panel, with so many viable options to choose from thanks to the Club’s rich history and past success.

Voting for a goalkeeper began on Monday, and there are still three days left to register your vote for a shot stopper.

Alan Kelly Snr is the obvious choice between the posts, having racked up over 400 appearances for the Lilywhites in 13 seasons – he even has a stand named after him at Deepdale!

Or, will James Trainer be the first Invincible to break into the squad? The ‘keeper was an ever-present during his 12 year career at PNE, making 250 appearances for the Club.

For the younger generation of North End fans, former Manchester City and Middlesbrough shot stopper Carlo Nash would be a fine choice.

The Bolton-born ‘keeper played 94 times for Preston in a two year stint with the Club, becoming a firm fans favourite thanks to his fearless style of play and dominant presence in the penalty area.
