Preston North End are delighted to announce a glamour friendly against English footballing giants Liverpool at Deepdale on July 13th, kick-off 3pm.
Brendan Rodgers will bring his first team squad to Preston before they jet off to play pre-season matches in the Far East, Australia, Norway and the Republic of Ireland, giving both sets of fans their first glimpse at how their respective squads are shaping up ahead of the 2013/14 season.
The match is a fitting tribute to an icon of both clubs, the great Bill Shankly, who would have been celebrating his 100th birthday this year.
Speaking of the game, Lilywhites manager Simon Grayson said: “I am absolutely delighted that Brendon has agreed to bring his team to Deepdale to kick-off our season and I am sure that everyone will be looking forward to an enthralling test for my players from one of the country’s top teams.”
Tickets for the game will go on sale in both Preston and Liverpool early next week, with sales arrangements to be communicated by each Club to their own supporters in due course.
Tickets will be priced at £15 for adults, £10 for PNE Ambassadors who have renewed their Ambassador status for the 2013/14 season and £5 for concessions.
A wide range of hospitality, advertising and sponsorship packages are also available for this match.
