Coaching Staff Visit Sir Tom

9 May 2013

North End’s coaching staff took time off recently to visit Sir Tom Finney at his nursing home in Fulwood.

Manger Simon Grayson and his staff, Glynn Snodin and John Dreyer, asked to visit the 91-year-old PNE legend, which his son Brian Finney quickly organised.

Speaking about the visit, the gaffer said: “It was fantastic to get the opportunity to visit and meet Sir Tom.

“He is such a legend and a well-respected person within the game and the City and it was a privilege for us to spend some time with him.

“He was reminiscing about players he had played with and many other stories he told us and we could have been there all day.

“It was a pleasure and an honour to have met him and we did say to him that we would like to make him proud by achieving great things for his football club.”
