Preston North End Academy host York City in the second round of the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday.

The match, scheduled for a 7pm kick-off, will take place at Deepdale, with North End looking to follow up their impressive first round win.

Supporters will again be able to use the Sir Tom Finney south concourse with entrance £2 for adults and free for season ticket holders of both clubs.

North End got through to the second round with a convincing 6-1 home victory over Mansfield Town on a rain soaked night at Deepdale and the stars of the future will be hoping to shine brightly again under the floodlights.

York City made their way to the second round following a good 3-0 win against Macclesfield Town at Moss Rose.

The prize for the winners of Wednesday night’s clash being a home draw against cup holders Norwich City.

The Academy have hit a sticky patch of form at U18 level since that impressive win in the first round, however manager Nick Harrison will be delighted to see more and more of his youngsters featuring in more prominent matches for the football club as of late.

In the 5-0 thumping of Southport in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup, Jack Ryan, Josh Sampson, Tyler Forbes, Bradley Roscoe and Sean Holmes all sampled the action alongside the likes of established first team players such as Thorsten Stuckmann, Jack King and David Buchanan.

While Ross Dalton and Nick Anderton got to take in the surroundings of senior football from the bench that evening.

A sign that the future is bright for Preston North End.
