Preston North End have completed the emergency loan signing of Bristol City midfielder Neil Kilkenny until January.
The 27-year-old Australian international has joined the Lilywhites until 5th January and has also been given permission by the Robins to play in the FA Cup, although he will not be able to face his parent club when they visit Deepdale in a fortnight.
The former Arsenal trainee has played Premier League football with Birmingham City, but joined Leeds United in 2008 and was a regular under Simon Grayson’s management at Elland Road.
He has been a regular in the Australian national squad over the past couple of years, having moved their as an infant, having been born in England and will be looking for first team football with PNE in order to attain a place on the plane to Brazil with his country next summer.
He has been given the No.37 shirt with PNE and will be available to compete for a place in the squad when the Lilywhites face league leaders Leyton Orient at the Matchroom Stadium this Saturday.
