Preston North End have teamed up with Gillette to help boost the Movember fundraising pot.
At the start of the month, PNE announced that a grand total of 19 members of the first team squad and football staff had agreed to grow their moustaches with pride for 30 days with a little help from The Gent’s Room Barbershop, upstairs at Jo and Cass on Fishergate in Preston.
And as November heads towards the halfway mark, a fine crop of moustaches…and some not so grand efforts, are appearing in the Lilywhites’ changing room.
And now alongside Gillette, the fundraising efforts will continue all the way through to our home match with Bristol City, with the sponsor donating £100 for each goal scored or cleansheet kept by our sophisticated looking gents.
With the following players taking part: Thorsten Stuckmann, Keith Keane, Scott Laird, Tom Clarke, Bailey Wright, Chris Humphrey, Lee Holmes, Joel Byrom, Joe Garner, David Buchanan, John Welsh, Jack King, Declan Rudd and Iain Hume, the squad have raised £500 thanks to three goals by Garner, one from Clarke and a cleansheet by Rudd, in addition to the funds raised via our various fundraising options.
Movember supports world class men’s health programmes that combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges.
These programmes, directed by the Movember Foundation, are focused on awareness and education, living with and beyond cancer, staying mentally healthy, living with and beyond mental illness and research to achieve our vision of an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.
If you would like to support the team with sponsorship, donation boxes are in the Club’s ticket and retail store, the ticket office and in the Club’s office reception, but you can also do it online at the PNE and Gents Room’s dedicated page: http://mobro.co/pne-thegentsroombarbershop.
