Fans Forum Success

15 October 2013

The South Ribble Supporters Group and PNE joined forces to put on a memorable Fans Forum on Monday.

With around 100 in attendance, Kevin Davies, David Buchanan and Tom Clarke answered a range of questions from North End’s promotion hopes, to grass roots football and even who had the best and worse banter in the changing room.

The two hour event at the Queens Hotel in Leyland was hosted by Adrian Ward and a raffle to win prizes including a signed PNE home shirt was held – Clarke coming within three tickets of winning his very own autographed shirt!

The most entertaining story of the night came from Lilywhites striker Davies who discussed being called in  to former North End player Sam Allardyce’s hotel room during his time at Bolton Wanderers – Allardyce wearing nothing more than a bath robe while smoking a big cigar with a glass of red wine in his hand at the time!

The players also talked about the charity work they support and get involved with in their spare time, Buchanan providing the most moving story – Clarke required a hug from his teammate afterwards, about the time he spends in schools mentoring children who don’t have facilities such as computers and stable homes to do school work in.

If you missed out on this Fans Forum, there is another chance to come along to one at Longridge Cricket Club on the 6th November when Declan Rudd, Chris Humphrey and Scott Laird will be fielding fans’ questions.
