Gallagher Re-Joins Lilywhites

30 October 2013

Paul Gallagher has completed an emergency loan deal to Preston North End from Leicester City.

The 29-year-old Scotland international has signed until the 2nd January and will go straight into the reckoning for Saturday’s home game against Tranmere Rovers.

This is the Glasgow-born forward’s second spell at the Club, having been signed on a six-month loan by Paul Simpson in August 2007 from his then parent Club Blackburn Rovers, where he came through the youth ranks.

He signed a permanent deal at Leicester City in 2009, when they paid £1m for his services and has made almost 150 appearances for the Foxes in the Championship, scoring 28 goals, as well as earning the Championship player of the month award 2010.

Speaking about his new recruit, manager Simon Grayson said: “We felt that we wanted to improve the squad and looked at certain positions and areas of the pitch that we could strengthen and Paul is obviously an experienced Championship player, played in the Premiership and can play in a variety of positions.”

He will wear the No.12 shirt at Deepdale and will join up with his new team-mates on Thursday ahead of the visit of Tranmere to Deepdale on Saturday.
