Preston North End and Spar have teamed up to present St Gregory’s Primary School with a new football kit.
The ‘design a kit’ competition was launched between the Club and the supermarket chain last season and St Gregory’s were the deserved winners with Ribbleton Junior School coming a close second.
Umayr Panchbhaya was the pupil who came up with the strip, a green and yellow diagonal design, which has now been made into a kit which both the boys and girls teams will proudly wear this season.
On seeing the new strip for the first time, teacher and school football manager Michelle Talbot said: “I absolutely can’t wait to see the kids in the new kit and in the first league match we will be wearing it with pride.
“I love the badge on it, it is fantastic.
“We usually play someone in the local area in our first league match so it will probably be against Deepdale or someone like that.
“The kids will be looking so good!”
Spar Marketing Assistant Kirsty McMahon was there to hand over the kit and she was just as delighted as the children to see the end product.
“I am really happy with how it all turned out,” added Kirsty.
“It is a great kit, with a great design and hopefully it will bring the kids some luck in the new season!
“We are really keen to keep building these local relationships and partnerships and we have started some projects for this year which will hopefully lead to more good result.”
