Places Left On Futsal Programme

6 September 2013

There are just three places left on PNE’s futsal programme, after 15 young adults signed up following GCSE results day.

Futsal helped develop the likes of Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, former World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo and current Brazilian superstar Neymar and is played on a hard, indoor surface.

It is currently the fastest growing form of football in England, but was originally developed in South America, before rapidly spreading across Europe.

The programme undertaken at North End is based around ten hours of academic study, practical study and a minimum of five hours game-related coaching as well as strength and conditioning training.

In order to qualify for a scholarship, applicants must be between 16 and 17-years-old and have at least four GCSE’s, or equivalent, at C grade or above – including maths and English.

The programme starts this month and will last two years, with games against the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Everton and Manchester City already confirmed.

If you have any interest in enrolling on PNE’s futsal programme, please contact the Club’s community department on community@pne.com or call on 01772 693312.
