Andy Little Expresses Delight At Scoring His First PNE Goal On His 100th Senior Appearance

13 August 2014

Preston North End striker Andy Little is hoping that his goal against Rochdale is the first of many for PNE.

The versatile frontman notched North End’s first goal in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Rochdale at Spotland, and he is hoping that there is many more to come as the Sky Bet League One season gathers momentum.

Speaking exclusively to PNE Player after helping the Lilywhites book a place in the second round of the Capital One Cup, Little said: “I was delighted [to score], it came totally against the run of play and I think it was Bails [Bailey Wright] with a bit of a hopeful ball but I managed to get running at them.

“It was one of the only times I sort of got that little bit of space and got to go at them and it kept opening up.

“I kept taking another touch and it was opening up and opening up and I think their goalkeeper took a bit of a gamble on it and I managed to flick it in so I’m delighted to get off the mark and hopefully there are some more to come.”
