Gaffer Expects ‘Boro Reaction To Weekend Defeat

25 August 2014

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson believes that Middlesbrough will be looking to bounce back following their Championship defeat on Saturday.

Middlesbrough – who had trailed 3-0 at one point, fought valiantly before going down 3-2 to Sheff Wed at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday.

And Grayson expects Aitor Karanka’s men to be back at their best when the Lilywhites – undefeated in all competitions so far this season, visit in the second round of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.

Speaking exclusively to PNE Player, Grayson said: “He has got a fantastic pedigree [Aitor Karanka] where he has been as a manager and assistant manager and he gets the ball down to play.

“He has got some home grown talent coupled with some Spanish players and they will mix the game up.

“They will probably try and play out from the back, they are a footballing team; disappointed to be 3-0 down at the weekend and ultimately they lost the game 3-2, so any manager will want a reaction from his players and if he decides to make some changes then he will be challenging his squad players to make an impact.”
