High Standards Now Set States Gaffer

16 August 2014

Preston North End boss Simon Grayson has challenged his side to meet the high standards shown at Scunthorpe United on Saturday for the rest of the season.

The Lilywhites were ruthless in brushing aside the Iron in a 4-0 away victory, with a performance on the road not that unfamiliar to many seen last season.

And the gaffer is hoping to maintain the level now set for the rest of the 2014/15 campaign.

Speaking to PNE Player at full time, Grayson said: “It was very good from start to finish.

“I thought we were very good in terms of the energy that we showed, the discipline that we showed within the team defensively, and going forward we were clinical, we passed it with a purpose, and to get four
goals away from home and a cleansheet is obviously very pleasing.

“We have set a standard that we need to try and maintain now.”
