Preston North End midfielder Jack King confessed that he and his teammates felt deflated following Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Doncaster Rovers.
Speaking exclusively to PNE Player following the match, King said: “To have a lead going into injury time, you obviously expect to see it out, and to concede in the manner that we did, the lads are pretty gutted in there.
“I think it was a typical League One game, it was a tight affair, both teams are good sides.
“They showed us the respect that we deserved but they got about us.
“They are at home and the emphasis was on them and they took the game to us without ever threatening.
“They had a few long range shots which [Jamie] Jones dealt with comfortably and it was sort of a job well done first half without getting the breakthrough that we needed.
“We capitalised in the second half and got the goal that we really wanted and I couldn’t really see them ever scoring.”
