Neil Kilkenny Prepared To Grind Out Result

14 August 2014

Preston North End midfielder Neil Kilkenny insists that the Lilywhites are more than ready to fight tooth and nail for three points at Glanford Park on Saturday.

PNE secured their place in the second round of the Capital One Cup in a tight contest with Rochdale midweek, and the Preston No.8 – who scored on Tuesday, is more than ready to roll his sleeves up and produce a similar result on Saturday if necessary.

Speaking exclusively to PNE Player, Kilkenny said: “They have just got promoted and it is a hard place to go, it’s a small ground and we need to grind out results.

“On Tuesday we went to Rochdale, and maybe it wasn’t the best performance, we probably played better on Saturday, but we got through to the next round and that is what we need to do; go to these grounds and grind out results.

“Maybe if we don’t play as well we still need to come away with victories and that is what we will need to do this season to get what we want.”
