PNE Player: Alan Browne Expects Sheffield United To Be Challenging For Promotion

28 August 2014

Preston North End midfielder Alan Browne is expecting this weekend’s clash to be between two sides who’ll be deep in the promotion mix towards the end of the season.

Two wins and two defeats have seen the Blades go into Saturday’s game against North End currently occupying the mid-table slots after the first four games of the campaign.

However, United’s Capital One Cup win against Premier League opponents West Ham in mid-week shows the capability of the Blades’ ranks and Browne reckons that will boost their opponents going into the battle of the roses fixture.

“Come the end of the season I think Sheffield United will be up there,” predicted Browne to PNE Player.

“They picked up a great result against West Ham the other week so they’ll be on a high and looking to build on that.

“We’re going into the game and looking to get the three points so hopefully we can come away with that.

“We’ve played some good football at times; other times not so good but we’ll take that as it comes because we’re looking to improve every game and I think we’ve done that over the course of the few games we’ve played in.
