“They’re going to be tough games but at the end of the day they’re all tough.”

“But I know we’ve got a tough start from what I’ve heard from the lads and from what I know myself with three away games after the first game.

“I think it is really important to get that momentum started early, get a good start, and try and get on a good run from the start of the season would be important,” he said.

Speaking exclusively to PNE Player, Little, who arrived at the Club from Scottish side Rangers this summer, told of how crucial it is to put a decent run of results together as early as possible.

Simon Grayson’s side won five of their seven pre-season fixtures, beating the likes of Premier League new boys Burnley at Deepdale and League Two outfit Morecambe at the Globe Arena.

The Lilywhites begin the new Sky Bet League One campaign at home to Notts County on Saturday, kick-off 3pm, before travelling to face Rochdale, Scunthorpe United and Doncaster Rovers in three back-to-back away matches.
