Simon Grayson was happy with his sides performance, which saw a late Joe Garner goal earn a well deserved point for the Lilywhites.
It was a frustrating afternoon for North End, but it came as no surprise to the manager, who expects many more games like this throughout the season.
"It certainly was frustrating, I think when you look back at the game, first half I thought we were very good, passed the ball well, got into good areas and got some good chances.
"You know that in a game like this, that they are going to come here and try and frustrate you, I thought that was their game plan right from the start and you need the first goal.
"We didn't, and when they got it it gave them something to hang on to and give them a bit more confidence and belief."
