Simon Grayson Happy With Warm Up

2 August 2014

North End boss Simon Grayson says he is pleased with the five weeks of preparation and is now counting down to the opening League encounter in seven days.

The Lilywhites manager spoke to PNE Player after his side completed their pre-season programme with a 1-1 draw with Premier League new boys Leicester City and admitted that he has a strong idea of whathis starting XI will be when Notts County arrive in PR1 in a week's time.

"I'm very pleased with the preparation that we've had, physcially, technically and tactically. We have a week now we can go through a few things we can improve on, both with and without the ball and hopefully in seven days time we will be stood here celebrating our first victory," he told the Club's online TV service.

"If someone went through pre-season and lost every game and said they didn't mind, they'd be lying. We can't get too over-excited by winning a few pre-season games, but we have performed well and have shown good quality with and without the ball and hopefully we can keep that winning mentality for weeks and months now.

"I've got an idea of what the team is going to be; there are players that have come back and done fantastically well and we are all heading in the right direction, both individually and collectively."
