Beckford Recalls Cup Giantkilling

4 December 2014

Back in his Leeds days, under the management of Simon Grayson and Glynn Snodin, Jermaine Beckford had an afternoon to remember in the FA Cup.

The frontman scored the only goal of the game as the Yorkshiremen triumphed 1-0 over their old rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford – and this week he spoke to The One And Only to recall the memory.

“I can picture that goal all of the time in my head,” rekindled North End’s latest target man.

“It was great movement from myself, and an inch perfect pass from Johnny Howson. I brought it down on my knee, let it go across my body, beat Wes Brown for pace and popped it into the top corner.

“It’s one of those moments that if you’re a Leeds United fan, and if you were at the stadium you never forget and I was so lucky and unfortunate that it just happened to be me at that moment in time.”

Also in this weekend’s 32-page FA Cup special, we have details of the Club’s previous 349 ties in the competition in a special feature from statistician Martin Atherton, we have eight pages of content about our visitors from Shropshire and we have the latest views of the manager.

All this and so much more, still for the fantastic value price of just £2. They will be on sale from Friday afternoon from the Club shop, online and in person from our sellers inside and outside of Deepdale on matchday.

Don’t forget; The One And Only is also available to download on your iPhone and iPad via the Matchday Digital app.
