Chris Humphrey Has High Hopes For Second Half of 2014/15

2 December 2014

North End winger Chris Humphrey is looking forward to the next chapter of the League One season going into the Christmas period and feels the side are destined for success.

Humphrey has played a big part in the campaign so far and is looking to continue his form and hopes to contribute to what could be a successful season, whether that be defensively, creating goals or scoring them.

Speaking to PNE Player ahead of this weekend's FA Cup tie against his former side Shrewsbury Town, the Jamaican told of his hopes for the remainder of the season.

"Compared to last season, I've added a few more goals, I've added a few more assists already to what I got last season. That's all I want to do, I'm just interested in working hard for the team.

"It's not even about creating goals or scoring goals, I just want to play my part, and work hard and as you've seen, when the team works hard together, we're very hard to beat and that's all I go out to do, the rest is a bonus with assists and goals.

"I'm quite happy to set them up and we win the game, we go home and I'm happy with that. Us as players, staff and the great support that we have at every game, we all want to go that one step further and get promoted. If that means I've got 50 assists and only four goals then I'm happy with that.

"I'm really looking forward to the second part of the season because at the minute we are looking good."

To hear more from Chris Humphrey on this weekend's FA Cup tie, his time at Shrewsbury Town and how he feels North End are performing, head over to PNE Player for the extended interview.
