Gaffer Pleased With Positive Approach in Claiming Victory

20 December 2014

Preston North End manager Simon Grayson praised his team for their attitude after claiming three points at London Road against Peterborough United.

Match winner Jermaine Beckford, scoring his first goal for the Club, netted in first half stoppage time to send the North End supporters home delighted with another fine away day.

And Grayson was quick to praise his troops for what was an outstanding team performance one-thru-14 including the substitutes.

“You never get an easy game here, the pitch was very difficult to play on, skiddy and taken lumps out of, but we knew we had to play a certain way,” said Grayson when speaking to PNE Player.

“We knew we had to be on the front foot and take the game to them, be positive in our approach, but obviously be aware of the threats they had and it was another real professional performance from the players.

“We knew we had to be positive in our approach because they have lost a few games at home and we had to make sure we got them on the back foot and we did that.

“I think for 70 odd percent of the game we were very dominant and had some great opportunities."
