Neil Kilkenny Praises Well Deserved Victory

20 December 2014

Neil Kilkenny felt North End were more than worthy winners as they came out 1-0 victors away to Peterborough United.

It was PNE's 100th game under manager Simon Grayson, and his side made sure it was one worth celebrating as the all-yellow Lilywhites took all three points at the ABAX Stadium and speaking to PNE Player, Kilkenny was quick to praise his team’s performance.

“It was a good performance from the lads, I think we deserved it, and we had a lot of chances but we didn’t finish them off.

"The last ten minutes they came at us, but we defended well, and overall we deserved the win.”

Jermaine Beckford scored the only goal of the game, his first for the Club since joining on loan in November and it was strike partner Kevin Davies who set up the goal for the 31-year-old and ‘Killa' was delighted that one of the frontmen got on the scoresheet this afternoon.

"We created a few chances but sometimes Kev isn’t greedy enough in front of goal, he had some chances to shoot today but was laying them off but it was great for one of them to get on the scoresheet today and they move onto the next game now.”
