Scott Laird Looking To Take His Chance

15 December 2014

Scott Laird made his first league appearance since the end of October against MK Dons on Saturday and hopes he can go on to claim the spot as his on.

The battle for the left-back position has been ongoing throughout the season and Scott Laird, who scored in his previous outing against Oldham Athletic, hopes he can now take his chance to prove his place in the side to the manager.

"It's always nice to play football at any time, training, games, Cups whatever, you saw a prime example of Buchs [David Buchanan] taking his chance, that's something I've got to take inspiration from and replicate that and take my chance as it comes.

We know it's a team game, squad game, and that everybody at some point through the season will get the nod, and when they got the nod they have to come in, be prepared, be ready and take their chance.

"Any starting Xl we put out, whether it be in the league, FA Cup, Johnstone's Paint, Capital One Cup, we've got a very, very strong team and we are going to go out there on Tuesday and try and get ourselves to Wembley and give the fans a good day out at Wembley.
