Simon Grayson praised Shrewsbury Town for a spirited performance as North End booked a place in Monday’s FA Cup third round draw.
And Grayson was happy just to be in the hat for the draw after a gutsy display by his team against a good Shrewsbury side.
Speaking to PNE Player following the contest, the gaffer said: “I think the one thing you make sure you do when you are involved in the FA Cup second round is that you are in the hat to participate for the third round and that is what we have managed to do.
“That is probably as hard a game as we have had this season at times.
“They have kept the ball really well, caused us a few problems in terms of their shape and rotation, but we stuck to the task and got the result.”
