Welsh Looking Forward To Crewe Clash

27 December 2014

Preston North End midfielder John Welsh is looking forward to PNE’s second game in 48 hours against Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road.

In what is traditionally a busy spell in the football calendar, North End travel to Cheshire on Sunday to face in form Crewe.

And despite only having two days between matches, Welsh insists a strategy will be in place to make sure it is a happy New Year for all Preston fans with victory.

“It is going to be another tough game for us but our away form has been good this year; as it has been since the gaffer came to the Club,” said Welsh, in an exclusive interview with PNE Player.

“We will be looking forward to it, it is always well known throughout football that Christmas is a very busy period, but with a good win yesterday I am sure we will be confident going into it.

I think sometimes you can have a game plan, as much as we concentrate on opponents we look after ourselves and what we can do.

“We believe we have quality throughout our squad that can hurt any team, so we just make sure our attitude is right, the shape of the team is good which it always is, and we play well and get a result there.”
