Preston North End Loan Round-Up

16 January 2014

Your weekly round-up of how PNE’s loan players have been getting on in the last seven days.

League Two

Graham Cummins got himself on the scoresheet once again for Rochdale, in a 3-0 away victory over Hartlepool.

The striker was the benefactor of a clever short corner routine, as he stabbed the ball home from close range for his fourth Dale goal, his second in four matches.

Another man to have a good weekend was Ben Davies.

The youngster helped York City to a cleansheet in a 2-0 win against Northampton Town at Sixfields, as the Minstermen made it three wins in a row.

Nicky Wroe made his debut for Oxford United in a 0-0 draw with Portsmouth.

The midfielder signed for the U’s on Friday following a loan spell at Shrewsbury Town and played a full 90 minutes for his new Club.

He was ineligible for Oxford’s superb 2-2 draw at The Valley against Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup midweek.

Chris Beardsley did feature in FA Cup action however, Bristol Rovers losing 3-0 away to Birmingham City.

The striker played the final 27 minutes of the match at St Andrews and he got another 25 minutes under his belt prior to that, as the Gas beat Exeter City 2-1 at the Memorial Ground in League Two action on Saturday.

Shane Cansdell-Sherriff will out of action until sometime in February at the earliest, as he recovers from his fractured cheekbone.

Non-League

Unfortunately for Steven James, Bamber Bridge’s match at the weekend was postponed due to the inclement weather and the goalkeeper’s loan spell with the Brig has now expired.
