Preston North End goalkeeping coach Alan Kelly says that Jamie Jones has fitted in well with Thorsten Stuckmann and Steven James in the new ‘keepers’ Club at Deepdale.
The former Republic of Ireland international spoke to PNE Player ahead of a busy week for the Lilywhites which will in all likelihood see the three custodians get some more game time under their belts as pre-season continues.
And Kelly is happy with the way Jones has gelled into the fabric of the shot stoppers.
“The group that we have got now with Stucki [Thorsten Stuckmann] and Steven James works well together,” said Kells when asked about Jones’ start to life at Preston.
“Obviously in the first couple of weeks no one knows each other and you are finding out how you work both as a person and as a coach and a player, so we seem to have bedded in ok.
“And getting into the games this week, it is another chance for us to pit our wits as goalkeepers against different types of opposition and we will see what it brings at the end of it.”
