Assistant boss Glynn Snodin was pleased to continue pre-season with another win at Morecambe's Globe Arena on Friday night.
The second in command spoke exclusively to PNE Player after the 2-1 victory over Jim Bentley's League Two side and felt that the team could have played betterm but after a gruelling week of three games in four days, plus training as well, it had been a worthwhile workout.
"It has been a tough week for them, training morning and afternoon and then playing in the evenings, as well as the weather.
"We thought they were a little bit off it today, but they kept going and ground out the result.
"Results don't matter in pre-season, but winning is a good habit to have and if we can put in two good performances against Premier League teams then things will be looking good for the Notts County game."
